The organization known as "Jordan Adult Synchro" is celebrating it's 30th Anniversary in 2010.  And while the organization's two teams seem fairly new on the synchro scene, they have a long and rich tradition as fixtures in the Niagara skating community since 1980. Actually, it was 1979 when a group of ladies from Pelham and the surrounding area got together on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons.  They were enrolled in a "learn to skate" program at Pelham Arena...part of what is now called CanSkate.  The ladies, under the leadership of coach Susan Pristanski, became known in the club as "The Silver Blades" and participated in a number of Pelham Carnivals in the early yearsMeanwhile, in 1980, as the new sport of "precision skating" was starting to become more popular, the ladies decided to get involved as a team.  To distinguish themselves from the Tuesday morning CanSkate group, they became known as the "Pelham Silver Shadows", a name that stayed with them for 22 years. The "Silver Shadows", still coached by Pristanski, entered a few competitions throughout Ontario and Western New York during the early '80's and while the results were mixed...the goals of fun, friendship and exercise were always met.  In 1983, a new coach, Vicki Vittucci, arrived on the scene and the "Silver Shadows" improved almost immediately, managing to win a few medals along the way.  In 1988, Lisa Petriello became the new boss, and the team, once again, improved to the point where they felt comfortable competing at higher profile events..  In fact, the Pelham team had a couple of top 5 finishes at the very prestigious Western Ontario Sectionals in the mid-'90's.
The "Silver Shadows" appeared regularly in competitions right through the end of the '90's and into the new millenium with Mrs. Petriello leading the way.
In September of 2003, the "Silver Shadows" decided to move locations and the Jordan Arena became home base.  Almost immediately after the move, there was a large turnout of skaters.  So large in fact, that they became two teams...one for Adults and one for Masters.  This change allowed the organization to grow and give more opportunities for ladies from Niagara (of all skating abilities) a place to skate.  Since the formation of these two teams, there has been quite a bit of success and both teams appear to have exciting futures.
